Hindi can’t be our National Language
The 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution recognised 22 languages as Indian languages.
Hindi is one of the language among the 22. In that aspect Hindi will be a sister language to all. People will not accept it as a link and national language as they feel their language also equal to Hindi. Equal to All can’t get a special status.
Since majority of indians agree that Sanskrit is the mother of all our Indian languages, Everyone will accept Sanskrit as national langauge.
Indian Official Languages
At present, as per Article 343 of Indian Constitution English & Hindi are official languages. So they can be used in Parliament, Judiciary and as a medium for official communications between Center and State Governments.
This should be changed on immedietly, Remove English from Official Language list and Make all of our 22 Indians Languages as Offical Languages.
We should learn something from European Union regarding the Official Languages. EU has 24 official languages and accepts all official languages as working languages.
Central Govt Should make all our 22 Languages as Indian Govt Official Languages. People should be able to commnicate with Govt in one of the language and get service. This should be done on priority.
India is the land of languages, and Indians have always been multi-lingual or living in multi-lingual environment for millennia.
In order to strengthen our multi-lingualism, we should compulsorily teach all students at least one Indian language other than their mother tongue till class 12.
Remove English from India
Unfortunately we are communicating in English. I am writing this answer in ENGLISH as the most unfortunate thing. This is the Worst Gift we got from our Independent Time.
Our culture and civilisation are our identity. Loss of identity is loss of everything. People with borrowed identity never prospered, as evident from so many countries. Only a person who knows his language can appreciate other’s which alone guarantees harmony, unity and enduring prosperity.
English is a Slave Language for us, we imported it from our Masters British, Even after we got independence we continue to use English and never understand the why generations and generations are learning english and continue to be slaves of English.
Its high time we should remove English as our official, Link Language and remove it as a medium of teaching in schools and colleges.
No Slave gets respect in the world with slave language. We need to have our own language and culture to get respect from the world.
Sanskrit as National Language
Ambedkar wanted Sanskrit as official language. He knew no other Indic language has resourcefulness & versatility to qualify as medium of science, arts, law & governance. He also saw through Nehru's gameplan to retain English & banish Sanskrit to prevent civilisational resurgence.
We have always been a knowledge-based civilisation. For several millennia, we have produced a huge body of knowledge and literature on a variety of subjects, primarily in Sanskrit.
Our Rig Veda is one of the world's oldest known texts. Our Mahabharata is the longest poem to have ever been written.
Sanskrit can be our Link Langage among Indians and can be an official Language and finally our National Language.
