Pension for Politicians Right or Wrong ?

A Nation Should take care of their Leaders and their Finacial Needs after getting service from them.

Politicians work hard and take risk in their careers. It takes he’ll lot of energy to handle people’s requests & demands, most of the time working on roads late nights and working for people.

While in opposition politicians have to expose the ruling party negatives and if required they need to protest and in the process, police cases will be filed and have to spend time in jails.

Overall it’s not an easy path to become a politician. If it’s that much easy everyone would have become a politician.

Politicians get a party ticket only after working considerable time in the public life and after crossing 35+ age only. Now after getting ticket, if all parameters are in good condition only they will be elected to law making houses. Finally to reach there one has to put tremendous effort and energy.

So it’s nations responsibility to take care of them by giving pension once their term is over.

Common man working in a job, they’ start getting salary from an age of 25 years and paid until they reach the age of 60. The life of an employee is safe and secure, monthly salary, promotions, family time, good life without any finacial problems. They can plan their retirement and invest in pension funds and take care of themselves after retirement.

Overall It’s Risk Vs Reward. Political career is highly Risky and limited opportunities. Common man’s job is less risky and plenty of opportunities and perks.

Its required to pay pension to Politicians after completing minimum 5 Years. They spent considerable amount of time for people and sacrificied their luxuries in serving the society.

Note: Let us not go into corruption income of politicians. Many people are honest in their life time. Rules are set considering a plain and straight income for anyone. No one considers illegal money while framing rules.

Ex: Lal Bahadur Shastri, Namboodripad, JayaPrakash Narayanan, Vajpayee, Manik Sarakar, Manohar Parrikar, Narendra Modi….There are so many people lived in public life and worked for society, they deserve pension at their final years.

Suggestion:

From the election affidavit, Set something Like Creamy Layer Limit and find out the assets of a politician. If there is any politician with less income/assets, the pension can be given to him/her only.
Optional Out Option. Government can ask Politicians to Opt out of the Pension if they don’t want pension from Government.
